The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is proud of its involvement in our community. We understand that it is important for residents and visitors alike to develop a rapport with our deputies. Our motto is “Earning the Public’s Trust Every Day” and one of the best ways to earn your trust is to develop lasting relationships so that you can feel comfortable coming to us when you need help. We promise to always treat you with respect and professionalism, regardless of your request. And we look forward to saying hello the next time we meet.

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department tries to support every major event put on by the County, including the Christmas Parade, Annual County Fair, TSSAA Football Games, and Carmen Burnett Marathon Run. We have also visited all of the schools in the county and participated in numerous events with local organizations. In addition, we sponsor our own events, such as Safe Streets/Safe Sweets on Halloween, a Bass Fishing Tournament for Mustard Seed Ranch, and our Holiday with a Heart toy drive at Christmas.

In keeping with the Sheriff’s commitment to reduce the number of prescription drugs on the streets, we held quarterly Prescription Drug Take-Back Events throughout the county last year. Between our quarterly events and the new Prescription Drug Lock Box in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office, we collected and destroyed over 700 pounds of unwanted and expired prescription drugs.
